I have a set that matches every one of your “Original” pics but Sennheiser claims they are fake and won’t fix them. Has anyone from Sennheiser verified that yours are real? Any suggestions?

The problem with these fakes is that they are getting more and more convincing. I have recently purchased a “fake” pair that very similar to the above, but have “matt” finishes instead of “glossy” finishes like the real ones. Needless to say they started coming apart quite quickly too. I will try to do some more comparisons and maybe add some newer images soon. Needless to say, Sennheiser will not be honoring any guarantees on purchases of their headphones made from eBay, genuine or not. I got a nice email confirming this from Sennheiser UK a few weeks back. I provide these images as a basic guide on spotting some of the charecteristics of fakes in good faith, however I cannot give you a 100% sure fire way of distinguishing real from fake unfortunately
do different countries get different packaging? because mine looks different to the ones on the sennheiser website and to dateover’s one. i got mine off ebay and the metal webbing fell off. i already asked for a refund and im waiting for a reply.
As far as I can remember there are two distinct types of packaging. The new one is clear plastic all the way around, while the old style one had a cardboard backing.

Hi,
For dateover:
As far as could see in Sennheiser website, in the products datasheets, those packages correspond to the CX-500 series.
The 3 sizes earplugs, and the darker grey color are only available for the 500 series.
thanks
